GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

 

The Data Warehouse Developer II is responsible for all aspects of the data warehouse environment, including maintenance, development, and enhancements. This role also provides recommendations for loading external data sources/types with adequate documentation for complex assignments under little supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Design and implement secure, resilient, and scalable warehouse architecture that meets current and future needs of the organization.
  2. Design, develop and implement data solutions, including schema design, modeling, metadata repository, database development, root cause analysis, and system testing.
  3. Understand and influence long-term data strategies and advocate for additional data sets and elements to support credit union data-driven decision objectives.
  4. Collaborate with project leads, business analysts, end-users, and third-party contacts to ensure that new initiatives enable effective analytic information management.
  5. Establish and document database standards, process maps for all processes, and measurement methods and metrics to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  6. Effectively manage day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring the scheduled deliverables in support of developer needs and other business requirements. Ensure automation for repeatable database tasks and processes is utilized when possible.
  7. Monitor and support the data warehouse, including data integrations (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.), access management, load balancing, performance, and operational monitoring, meta and master data management, and advise team on improving the performance and reliability of the solution.
  8. Design Business Objects universe layers for business intelligence solutions. Optimize the performance of Business Objects applications.
  9. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to multi-task, reprioritize, and escalate as necessary.
  10. Strong decision making, analytical, problem solving, and time management skills.
  11. Help and constructively mentor team members in their professional development.
  12. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in an IT or analytical related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2 - 4 years of hands-on experience in design and implementation of ETL framework for complex data warehouse projects using Microsoft bi technology (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI).
  • Experience delivering data quality outcomes, performing and presenting data profiling results, working with relational databases including Oracle PL/SQL or MS SQL, and a multitude of file formats.
  • Excellent knowledge of relational data modeling (ERD), SQL and data warehousing.
